| Data Nexus,
Inc. Hires New Director of Public Safety Services
August, 2003
Data Nexus, Inc. announces the latest addition to its team. Larry
Holestine, formerly a Major with the Colorado State Patrol, has
joined Data Nexus to serve as Director of Public Safety Services.
Mr. Holestine has over 29 years of experience in professional law
enforcement. As District Commander of the CSP, he created the Colorado
State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team, which is now recognized
as one of the best in the nation. In addition, he played an instrumental
role in moving the CSP towards a "paperless" record-keeping
environment. Most recently, he has used his invaluable traffic safety
and traffic records knowledge to promote data collection, traffic
safety information management systems, seat belt usage, reduction
of alcohol-related crashes, and other prevalent highway traffic
safety issues.
Mr. Holestine has served on numerous committees in the fields of
traffic records and transportation safety. Recently, he served as
2003 Chair of the Association of Transportation Safety Information
Professionals and has been instrumental in moving ATSIP toward a
professional association. As a member of the National Highway of
Transportation and Safety Administration's (NHTSA) traffic records
assessment team, Mr. Holestine traveled across the US helping states
to improve traffic record collection, reporting, and analysis.
As Director of Public Safety Services for Data Nexus, Inc., he
will consult with public agencies on information systems and technology
requirements, manage law enforcement activities and traffic records
assessment activities, develop training course curriculum, and provide
subject matter expertise to the Polaris software development team.
Dr. Scopatz, Director of Research and Government Services for Data
Nexus, Inc., has worked with Mr. Holestine on various boards and
committees and believes that
"Larry is a valuable addition to the Data Nexus team. His
subject matter expertise and law enforcement background will enable
Data Nexus to better meet the needs of our customers while maintaining
a high standard for transportation safety and traffic records
management."
Barbara Hilger DeLucia, President and CEO of Data Nexus, Inc.,
echoes this response saying,
"I have had the pleasure to work with Larry on numerous
state and national projects over the years. The addition of Larry's
experience and knowledge is one more reason why Data Nexus continues
to be the provider of choice for highway safety consulting and
transportation information systems."
